About the Workshop
Following the success of its first edition, the Academic Writing Workshop returns this year to explore food as a powerful lens for understanding everyday life, culture, and society in India. The 2025 Second edition brings together leading scholars and practitioners whose work spans sociology, anthropology, agrarian studies, environmental policy, and cultural theory.
Through interactive sessions, participants will:
- Engage with diverse perspectives on food systems, livelihoods, and media.
- Learn to translate field experiences and reflections into academic writing.
- Explore methods such as oral histories, ethnography, and qualitative analysis.
- Build confidence in structuring, framing, and publishing sociological writing.
This workshop is ideal for early-career researchers, postgraduate students, independent writers, and practitioners interested in food studies, culture, and everyday life.
